Several times Last year I had no access when I was fully paid because my key card would not work even though I was fully paid and just given new cards.

When we arrived on moving day with the truck full...NO UNIT FOR US!!. Unbelievable. We managed to secure a unit at Devonshire which was excellent but the Dougal store needs some attention. I could never recommend that store.

Racquel C. | First ImpressionsWe never went to this Storage Facility .I tried to answer your questions the best I could. in light of our plans changing because of the timeline. We reached U.S. customs at 11 p.m. ( at shift change) then on to Canadian Customs - 3 hours - so the plan to go to the Storage Unit in the dark after driving 19 hours on Thursday was changed to putting everything in my garage. I have had all week to go through all the boxes and was fortunate to get a storage unit at Tecumseh and Lauzon U-Haul. I am sorry it did not work out but after the 2 very busy days it was just not possible to lug the furniture at 2:30 - 3:30 in the morning Friday. I do appreciate everything the U-Haul on Dougal did to make this very stressful time so much easier . Jacqueline has been amazing to me and I very much appreciate the wonderful staff and kindness . (It is like a huge boulder being lifted off my shoulders!!!) Thank you all again .Respectfully, Nadia

Very Quality people -- who are kind , professional and patient with me ( with having little social contact over the last almost 2 yrs - when I get a chance to talk to a real person - wow!!! I can't stop talking!! ( and I do try). They are absolutely GREAT!!! I have never had such an easy experience to do something that was so important to me - and your staff understood that and took care of every single thing to ease my mind with respect to this aspect of my journey. And you made very easy to cancel out when I no longer needed storage! I rented a uhaul truck the same day I canceled my storage. I did not like the drop off app that requires to much stuff - questions and pictures I had to keep going back to the Uhaul truck to look for.

Rebbie B. | First ImpressionsBare with me! I did the reservation online. Great! When I got my confirmation, I decided (as it suggested) to take the free month and move in today. It would not take my info online for and unknown reason so I called the help line. After a short hold I got though but she insisted I did not have a reservation. Finally she found it asked for all my details again, and put me on hold for a very long time while she 'confirmed with the facility" then told me I was all set, just go in to the office and they would give a a pass code and unit number. Great. I loaded up me car and headed down to the facility later that day. There was no manned office. I called the help desk again and was told there was no reservation for me! She said I would have to speak to a customer service officer and put me on on hold...again...for approx 1 hour, while I was sitting in my hot car at the facility waiting to move in. Finally I got a lady who told me I never had a reservation and we would have to make a new one, so I made my 3rd one in one day!!! She double checked and assured me it was good to go and told me to confirm on the email she just sent and it would give me a pass code and unit #. I went on the email, filled in all my info for probably the 4th or 5th time and again, it would not process it or recognize my reservation # for the free month. Now all I could do was laugh, I was too frustrated and hot to cry. I decided to go to the main Uhaul on a few Kms away and get help. The guy behind the desk first said I didn't have a reservation and then he found multiple. He was great to deal with and set me up, cancelling the extra and giving me an access card. He assured me there was a lock in the unit, I had one month free and finally I was set. His name was Adam and he was very helpful. It was late so I headed down the next day to drop the load off on my way to work. When I got there I realized I had not been given a unit number, I checked my emails, nothing, and nothing on the access card so I called and got Adam. He gave me the number and confirmed the lock was in it but when I got in there.....no lock! And another wasted trip. It was no longer comical and I was now officially annoyed. I called back and was put on hold for some time then a lady came on and told me I would have to go back to the other facility and buy a lock. I explained that my sign up came with a free lock and I had been told twice that it would be there. She was very sharp not helpful. I told her I could not come now as I was going to work and she said they would 'try to get there and put one in". I told her I would be going in again after 5 on my way home from work, but at 5 there was still no lock.(I was not at all surprised by now). I called again and got Adam who was horrified and promised to fix it. He said he would take the lock himself on his way home if he had to. I explained that I had left the facility and was out of town for the weekend (with my loaded car I might add) and would not be able to move in now until at least Sunday if I got back in time. He took my number and said the manager would call me. He called me back 10 minutes later to say someone was taking one down now. He was great and very apologetic, the only person who seemed to care about the great hassle, waste of precious hours and inconvenience I had been through. But wait, there is more...... I got a phone call Sunday morning from the Manager at U haul and I was thinking "ok, it took a while but it's sorted now so I will let her say sorry and leave it at that". But no, she was calling to say they saw I hadn't moved in yet and they would be canceling my booking!!!! She went on to say the big manager was coming next week and they wanted everything in order for him. Are you kidding me? I explained that I would be moving in that afternoon and PLEASE don't cancel. She was lucky I was laying carpet when she called and didn't have time to tell her what I was really thinking. I moved in that afternoon, the lock was there. This is a true narrative of my experience. You be the judge if that is the standard you are looking for. Absolute worst experience I have ever had with any business ever (except for Adam)
Suzanne H. | First ImpressionsI needed my storage unit as I had a whole 26' truck loaded, I was given an access card but not a key and the unit was locked for cleaning. Perhaps don't give out units that are not ready. Needless to say I had to unload the truck. Extremely inconvenient.
JODI S. | Overall ExperienceThe 1 800 uhaul girl that booked my storage never said we had to pick up our keys and paper work at 2890 McDougall was very upset with that...but mcdougall guy was beyond helpful and mcdougall place was so awesome...i will never call 1800 uhaul again I'll only deal with local people..

Mohammed W. | First ImpressionsStaff was nice when I went in but manager NEVER called me back after months of asking and leaving messages with head office. Can't ever reach a person when you call the location, have to call the 1-800 number and leave a message for a call back.... Which never comes. Racked up late fees because no one would call or email me back, I had to intentionally not pay for 2 months to get someone to call me back finally. Never had a problem before UHaul bought this location from Red Grey, now I will never go back or give UHAUL any money. Girl in the office was nice when I went in, but she couldn't even get ahold of the manager. I received 5 late notice letters all at the same time on October 10, which was ridiculous in itself since I was not in arrears, and the letters were dated from August and September. Manager of the location can't even send mail out at the proper time.
OLIVIA H. | Overall ExperienceWe would have given a 5 Star (excellent rating) however, the employee we dealt with gave us incorrect information on how to access our storage unit. He said there were 2 keypads and to use the one on the far left to get in, which was wrong. We were very thankful that there was a U-Haul employee there doing some work, as he showed us how to correctly log-in to get into the facility; he explained how we needed to ensure we logged out when we left; he showed us as how to open the garage door and explained there was a 60 second timer on it before it would automatically close. Perhaps an instruction sheet would be helpful for first time renters. If there hadn't been something there working at the facility, it would have been a very frustrating experience trying to access our unit.
