When I reserved the car they indicated that the gas tank was on half when it was really on a quarter tank. I didn't notice it until later because when I went to get the car it was blocked in by a truck. I waited 30 minutes to get the vehicle and since I was running behind I didn't have time to go back and let them know that the truck was at a quarter tank. When I returned the car they a accused me of bumping the car and made me pay the deductible for some damages that were already there when I got the truck. Then the employee indicated on the damage form that I was an employee. I'm not sure what fraud system they have going on but I was shocked and caught off guard. I don't know the lady's name, but I understand it was closing time, and she was brushing me off, but the gentleman with locs was beneficial. He was off and in his car leaving but seeing I had trouble getting access, he stopped his car to assist. I appreciated that because he could've kept going, but the fact he got out of his vehicle to help was genuine. This is the 3rd time booking a pickup/drop off location and the location was changed before picking up. I booked the uhaul pick up from SW, DC. However the delay before I was told to pick it up from Capitol Heights which changed my commute from 6 mins to 36 mins. I do not appreciate the fact that when we book, the pickup location is changed. It's inconvenient & stressful.Markita B.
UHaul changed our location to pick up the truck from one that was 5 minutes from the apartment we were moving from to one that was 33 minutes from the location. We requested pick up through Ride Share, but the process took over 30 minutes to approve us and then the key was not in the lock box causing us to navigate the very long line. The manager Corey was awesome. My reservation was confirmed but once there for the pickup, my truck was not there, the person returning my truck did not show. The manager offered me a different size and discounted the mileage, to offset the cost for the extra trips I would have to make due to the smaller truck size. That's the way to think outside the box in order to accommodate the customer. Kudos To Corey. I would recommend that location to friends and family for future truck rentals.Shanelle G.

Not only my location was changed last minute after the website advertised a guaranteed reservation but also my reservation time was switched. I booked my equipment based off my location and this inconvenience forced me to pay for more mileage AND I missed my time slot to utilize loading dock at move in location. This was the worst experience I've ever had with u-haul. But I'm thankful for Jasmine the Assistant Manager at the Capital Heights location. Very attentive and showed empathy to my situation. I understand demand was high but I find my experience frustrating. I requested the truck at a DC location at 8am Saturday. They weren't available. UHaul offered a location on Bladensburg Rd. I accepted and was told a customer service rep would be in touch on Wednesday. No one called. I finally called on Friday and was told I would have to go to to Lanham, MD but the truck was not processed. I was finally told I could get a truck at 7 am in Capitol Heights, MD. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone because the customer service was subpar, and they're was hug damaged areas on the truck that had not been identified previously. Also as we are checking out at the register with one associate, another one informs our associate that the A/C doesn't work. Our associate responded to her that it wasn't notated in the system and issued us the truck anyway. She told us that we would receive a discount when we turned the truck in, but when I checked the truck in on the app, that discount had not been applied and as it was 5 am and we still had to go to work, I went ahead and completed my transaction.Sherie T.

Explain to people the entire amount up front .when i originally had it placed on reservation it was 60 dollars.Then when i pick the truck up it went to 112.00, then when i brought it back the truck i spent 168.66. the amount has tripled since i placed it on reservation. then i pay the 168.66 and it was deducted from my account on 7/18 now on 7/19 you place an additional 55.74 on my credit card. i hope and pray this amount drops off because i will sue you guys for false advertisement. This is absolutely crazy... I will never and i mean never rent from you all again and then on top of that i called to see why this amount has been pending from my account and the guy had the nerve to tell me that if i get an overdraft charge that i would be responsible for it. Are you freaking kidding me. then i called back and the other guy could not tell me why the 55.00 was additionally taken out. this is my worst experience that i ever had...Tenisha P.

When you choose to pick up your truck online, when you get to the part, Have you found your truck, it's not where the picture shows. You have to search the lot. When you go to the tent to get the key, they say it's inside. When you go inside, they say the key is outside. It's very time-consuming and frustrating. I rent a 10 ft truck many weekends and half the time experience problems using the mobile self check out. Last weekend, the key was not in the lockbox. My pick up was before the store closed so I was able to walk in and talk with a rep who was completely uninformed about how to find the key to the truck. After 10 minutes of complaining, I gave her my truck id number and quickly produced the key. The whole time she is on a personal phone call. I feel like the manager needs to do a much better job training reps!Michael G.

I already spoke to the manager but basically I got Charged the extra miles I had on the vehicle because they changed the lock on my storage unit and even after I paid the fee . The manager didn't have the kid I needed to get into the storage so I had to wait the next day to take my things out of storage . The woman who helped me was working all alone unfortunately with no one helping. The store was very busy with lots of customers and should never be understaffed!! Still, the young woman provided exceptional service and was courteous under pressure and serviced each customer effectively. She didn't miss a beat, but she could use help, it's not fair to her or the customers. AND the Central Avenue location needs MORE and BETTER moving equipment for unloading from vehicles to moving into the bldg!! There were only a few all in use! PLEASE!! Still waiting for call back from Corey Weaver at Capital height, MD Message sent below Hi Corey, I scheduled a move out for today, subject to me getting a rental van. When I made the reservation, I received a call informing me that I would receive a call 48-24 hours before pick up if the truck was available. I never received a call. I changed my truck rental to next week, 10/8, I believe and will probably change it again to later in October. I am not moving out as scheduled and was NOT able to change the move out date. I received excellent Customer Service from Storage Unit Manager, Mignon Lee and from General Manager, Corey Weaver! They both explained U-Haul's Policies to me very explicitly and answered all my questions I had since this was my first time ever renting a Storage Unit from U-Haul. One evening after Office Hours, I was at the Property on Central Avenue where my Storage was located and I could not board the Elevator to go to the second floor. It appeared to be stuck or either other Clients/Customers was blocking the Elevator from moving. I waited 20 minutes then I noticed there was an after hours phone number posted on the wall with the GM's Cellphone number listed ( Corey Weaver's # ). I dialed his number and he immediately picked it up and identified himself as the GM and related to him how I am Disabled and needed the use of the Elevator but it was not working. Mr. Weaver said give him about 10 minutes and that he would drive back to the U-Haul location and investigate what was going on with the Elevator. I said Great and that I would be standing right in front of the Elevator when he arrived. Another 5 minutes pasted and the Elevator Opened with 2 Men got off with loaded Carts of Furniture. So, it appeared these 2 Men was blocking the Elevator with their Furniture until they finished loading up the Elevator with their items. Out of courtesy, I made another telephone call to Mr. Corey Weaver, as he was driving back into U-Haul to let him know that I was finally able to board the Elevator and told him what the problem was. Mr. Weaver thanked me for letting him know and then the rest of the evening retrieving my items from my Storage Unit went Perfect! I will let other Family and Friends know how accommodating U-Haul Storage Facility is and how U-Haul will go the "Extra Mile" for it's Clients/Customers!! Staff friendly but not very efficient. I had down all the prep work by way of the internet the night before yet it took her 45 minute to get us in a truck and on our way. Facility was clean but only one person on duty when I was there at 3:00. At one point she was trying to serve 2 other customers. Got in van and it was blocked by a truck. Called for help but eventually had to wiggle out from behind another truck to leave - cutting deeper into the 4 hours. Communication via the internet is way to complicated and cumbersome.
