I've been trying to resolve an issue with this location and so far no luck. I've called and left messages and sent emails. When I returned the truck I returned it after I filled up to the spot I thought I needed to fill up - slightly below the half tank mark. I took a photo of the gas gauge when I dropped off truck and this location is trying to charge me for 7 gallons stating I did not refill tank and it was at 1/4 tank mark which it was not. I have receipts from gas stations to prove I purchased gas. I have been ignored for weeks now and continue to try to contact someone to give me at least credit for 3.5 gallons at $7/gallon. this location charged me for 7 gallons (claiming gas was at 1/4 tank which it was not).

I reserved truck in person at the store most convenient for me. Couple days before the reservation I get a call that the truck i reserved will be picked up and returned at a different location. its a few extra miles but i get it. Its a 2 day rental, truck is to be returned 930am Monday. Store opens at 9am. I arrive to return truck at 905am no one there, store locked up. I wait. At 925am i call another location and explain no one is here to accept the truck and 2 dolly's. I also explain another issue regarding fuel. They transfer me to another person. I explain everything again. Its now 935am store is still not open. Lady on phone says she's going to contact someone else about why the store is not open and tells me I can drop the key in the box if i don't hear back from her in a few minutes. Before I let her go I explain the issue with fuel. When I picked up the truck fuel gauge reads 1/4. I drive less then a mile and the gauge reads 50 miles to empty. I pull into gas station and discover the fuel cap is dangling, i hadn't noticed that when i picked it up. My guess is someone siphoned fuel the night before. Anyways It takes 6 gallons to get the guage to 1/4 tank. I complete my move putting a total of 26 miles on the truck during my rental and it took 4.8 gallons to get it back up to 1/4 tank. So I put 10.8 gallons aka $52.25 to complete a 26 mile move. And now there is no one at the return store 45mins after they were suppossed to be open. She said she was sorry about this and would be calling another person to get to the bottom of it. And that if she didn't call me back in a few minutes I should drop the key in the box. A few mintues later i dropped the key in the box and left, not knowing how much i will be billed or if there will be some discount for fuel issue. (I have time stamped pictures and receipts supporting my comments about fuel) I've rented trucks and trailers from uhaul 8 or ten times over the past 25yrs and have never had a problem. UHAUL is great, the people that helped me over the phone were great. But i will not be renting via the Southside Storage location in Anchorage Alaska ever again. And i would not recommend it to anyone else.

This location was utterly unprofessional. The lady working was rude and stated she didn't have the trailer i rented to begin with while we could see it outside after the previous I confirmed with uhaul everything. At this her boyfriend was hanging out there hackling us. He told us to hurry up because he wanted to pick her up and leave. At that they gave us the trailer, locked the door and left. We had to drive to another uhaul down the road on old Seward and Tudor to get help and have our questions answered. Allan was AMAZING! So friendly and helpful. Overall I would NEVER recommend the location I picked the trailer up from.

The red engine light came on. We were in seward too far to go back. We were scared something might happen to the van. Also, the windshield is cracked , we were afraid it might Crack more and blow the windshield away Over all it was scary until we return the van

The customer service at this location was very poor. I was called by the location 2 days ahead of my drop off to ask me where I was and why I hadn't dropped off the equipment that I rented the day before which I was supposed to keep for 3 days. I was also charged more than I should have because I was told that I kept the equipment 2 days more than I should have.

The check-out service was slow, but the check-in process was awful. I was overcharged for gas charges based on a guess on usage by the attendant. I drove 30 miles and was charged for 5.5 gallons of gas. The attendant just looked at the gas gauge and estimated….

We were helped by the most patient, helpful staff member who was utterly overwhelmed running the counter alone at such a busy hour, but still managed to get us up to the alternate parking are a for the trailer we needed, and got us on the road quickly.

This location opens at 9:00 am on Saturday's but the employee opening the store arrived at 10:00am (after confirming 2 days in advance someone would be there at 9:00 am). I was one of three customers who were told someone would be there at 9. The back driver side tire had a leak in it which was mentioned at pick up but there wasn't any other available vehicles. I filled it up routinely due to the leak and when I went to drive it the following morning, it was completely flat so I started the next day again behind schedule to change the tire with the equipment provided. The oil change notification light went on and I was traveling a significant amount of miles so I checked the oil and it was extremely low therefore I purchased oil and filled it up. Overall not a great experience, I booked this vehicle 3 months in advance giving Uhaul adequate time to perform the required maintenance on the vehicle.

I rented a trailer that you did not have available. Had to take another trailer that I didn't really need. No other options. Not to mention that not all the lights on the trailer worked. No running lights no left blinker light… Was told that if anything happened uhaul would cover it. Was not pleased that I had to risk driving without proper lights

Vehicle had intermittent check engine light. Dash lights for the Tachometer and speedometer were burned out making it very difficult to know my speeds at night. Powertrain making some whining noise, especially at lower speeds. Suggest thorough test drive and maintenance follow-up. Truck was clean.

I was told the price and fees of the week long rental and got charged additional when I returned it in the same condition. They told me when I paid the first time that, that was all I needed to pay. Why the upcharge??? The guys on the phone do not explain all the charges upfront. Did not like that.

Vehicles don't appear to be inspected after returning. I was initially rented a truck that still had the previous customers locks on it and it was not cleaned , inside or outside. Then, after switching to a different truck, IT had the lock cut off and was also dirty and very low on fuel. Unsatisfactory

I wasn't instructed on how to return on Sundays. They were closed but did not tell me how to properly check out. The sign by the key drop gave what seemed to be outdated instructions and I wasn't able to navigate the website to return the truck as the sign instructed. I dropped the keys and left, hoping that would be enough.

The truck was very dirty at pick up. However I did not say anything because I picked up the truck at 5:30pm and it had rained heavily that day and several days before. I am not sure if the trucks are normally cleaned in between or not. This isn't a complaint, but more of an observation and just making you aware.

The price was much higher than another storage unit in town. However, your place does look much nicer. Could use to grade the dirt road to entrance, as the pot holes are huge.
