I booked to pick up in boulder, and was changed to Louisville. sat on hold for an hour with customer service to get the $50 reservation guarantee and was never answered. Unacceptable that I had to pay for extra miles when I booked in advance down the street from my location.Nick M.

It was my first time trying the 24/7 share truck rental. Using the U-Haul app to check in the truck was easy and smooth. However, I was stuck uploading a photo of the odometer and fuel level while returning it. A time-out issue possibly. Either there was something wrong with the app or a "weak" cell phone signal (I got 4 out of 5 with T-mobile). I called U-Haul to check out the truck instead. Later, I found out that there is free Wi-Fi for U-Haul customers. But it was too late for me to test that. Overall, I am happy with the rental experience and appreciate the convenience.Hongyu G.

I spent over 4 hours on the phone the morning I was set to pick up my uhaul because there was an issue with connecting my reservation to my account. I was on hold 4 different times for an hour each before I was able to reach someone who was able to remedy the problem. This location was great. Uhaul was not helpful. The "24/7 Truck Share" check-in process was definitely cumbersome, largely because of (a) the requirement for a U-Haul account, and (b) the unexpected need for additional contact information or other identifying information. While we got through it, the unexpected calls to my contacts and the request for things like a passport - which I do NOT normally carry when picking up a moving truck - were novel. In addition, it seems like the check-in process I completed the day before was a complete waste, as all of the elements had to be redone. The location did a great job to have everything ready, clean, and apparently well maintained. The corporate end got dropped rather badly. I did get the truck, but the half hour delay was unwelcome. I would have discussed all this with the chat or telephone representative I attempted to contact, but the phone was never answered and the chat was attended indifferently and provided no opportunity to have a meaningful conversation. I suspect I wasn't the only one experiencing challenges that morning.Richard T.

There was nothing wrong with the locatino or the equipment however, the remote pickup/drop-off is a complete disaster. I would never recommend anyone use this process. Only rent from UHaul if you are able to do so while there is a human there to check in and check out the equipment. It took over an hour to get through the online process to pick up the equipment and I was never able to actually able to drop off the equipment fully online. I had to finally give up and just leave the key in the drop box. There was no assistance via the 800 number as it just said "...we cannot assist at this time. Try again later." and then it hung up. My issue was not with Empire (where the agent fortunately arrived early, anticipating a problem with our 7:30 pick-up), but with UHaul. The 24/7 check-in system did not work. While my order clearly stated that I had elected the 24/7 check-in, when I clicked on "Pick Up My Truck," I repeatedly received the message that I had NOT signed up for 24/7 check-in. When I attempted to call U-Haul, I was on hold for more than 20 minutes (precious moving time). I don't know how long I would have been on hold, as I hung up when the agent arrived.Ann E.
