Frustrating and disappointing experience to say the least!!! Set up rental for 24/7 pickup and couldn't at this location. Wasted my time in the morning when I attended before the location opened to get the truck as I was directed by the uhaul site and was unable to access the truck. Ordered a dolly and found out they do not have any on site. At no time during the rental process was I informed of this. Found out when I had to RETURN to get the truck AFTER the store opened. Unacceptable and terrible communication by Uhaul in regards to this. As for the store itselfâ€¦the worker on site, who I believe was the owner, had issues trying to complete the rental, had no idea how to work through the uhaul site to complete the process and at one point I was unsure I would even be able to get the keys as he was completely confused and frustrated. Nice enough man, but poorly trained on the system. ALL the preregistration documentation I completed for the purpose of having an expedited process to pick up the truck was for not. Everything had to be done again on siteâ€¦multiple times (I.e. photo of DL). The entire process was hugely disappointing and frustrating. Not a process that bodes well for Uhaul. Prior to leaving I asked about our next rental we have set up for July 02 for a 20' moving truck and he indicated they do NOT carry those trucks on site. Why would Uhaul allow someone to rent a vehicle to pick up at a location knowing they wouldn't be able to??!! That's asinine! I have since moved my pickup location only by happenstance and because I had such a horrible experience with a truck pickup. Unfortunately Uhaul is one of the few rental, if the only, that provides inexpensive options and the option for a one way trip so they seem to be able to provide a horrible experience and get away with it. The vehicle was not typical rental car clean- had lots of bugs on grill and windshield. Floors had light dirt and in bed of truck. Fuel level was not full and is hard to refill to the partial % it is at. I ended up over filling based on my estimated fuel use for km driven. It should be filled/ topped up so that when you are done you go to a fuel station and top it back up to full. Rental paperwork was not in order even thou I did this prior to the rental including scanning my DL and entering my CC info. This all had to be redone wasting time for me and the rental agent. The rental agent was good as he got me on my way as best he could following the Uhaul procedures. He also fixed an overcharge for the $15 damage insurance that was showing up 2X on the same rental.Paul P.
I booked a dolly and wasn't provided it on the rental day. I wasn't informed about the unavailability and the guy at the convenience store was definitely not trained properly. It took me about an hour to actually start driving because the online check in wait time was long and the guy inside was trying to start a new rental and had no idea what the 'get the key' screen on my phone means. The truck was clean but that was the only thing I liked about using your service.Byung Woo L.
