1) It literally took ONE WHOLE HOUR on the phone to get the truck checked out!!! While the intention of contactless pick-up might be worthwhile, the UHAUL system is in DIRE NEED of major OVERHAUL ! The people I spoke with on phone (360-356-1577) were very helpful & patient with me, the last one staying on the line & walking me thru the process. Totally ridiculous while my mover friends WAITED (& wasted an hour of their Saturday morning) for the process to get completed. 2) The handtruck I ordered was NOT in the back of the truck. Because no one at the office, could not rectify the issue. 3) The gas tank was on EMPTY - luckily there's a gas station across the road ! 4) The original truck reservation online went smoothly, however the day before the move, I was notified the truck was not being returned by the original renter & I'd need to pick up the truck at different place. This was not a problem, but I was charged for the additional distance needed to pick up the final truck! Why was I charged extra when not my fault the pick-up site was switched. Moving day is expensive enough! In addition to all of this, another separate rental account was started by someone & the original account was not canceled.... so I had TWO accounts/charges to my name. It took awhile (night before move) but eventually the mess-up was corrected by very helpful reservation folks at 360-356-1577.Gail C.

Returning the equipment outside of business hours requires use of location services. Normally this is not an issue and my location is always on. However the uhaul website was having issues or something and it took a longtime to verify location. I was getting worried because at first it wasn't going through and that would mean even though I had the truck back, it wasn't technically returned. I don't know what happens then but probly a large bill. Everything else, the company, the people, the equipment and the price is awesome. I will still rent from uhaul and I will make sure to consider this in the future. Thanks Uhaul!Michael J.

The customer service was awful. Employee had no idea what he was doing. He had to call the manager twice and then the district manager twice. It took my employee 30 minutes with no one else in line to rent said vehicle. This cost me time and money. The employee was too busy taking about politics and the war in Russia. It was time consuming to have to give 2 reference ph#'s & go through all the extra steps to pick up the truck. We gave tons of info to rent online including the cc # etc. At that time it should of been asked for 2 addtl ph#s we were in a hurry to get back with the truck as we had to drive 40mnts out of our way to get the truck as I rented a 20ft & day before was i formed only a 15ft avail but 40mnts south of our home. Very convenient way to rent. I walked to the location and waited for my contact to be verified. I waited for quite sometime, she was at work. When booking online it should be clear that the contact needs to be contacted, prior to getting the keys. I would have chosen a person that was available. I will warn people NOT to go there! Horrible customer service - employees were rude, condescending and dismissive. They were obviously more involved in the computer side of business. When I dropped vehicle well before closing I was told "why didn't you put in back with others? Now I'll have to move it. It won't be checked back in until tomorrow ". All of this with a smirk. This is only pick contactless pick up from what I could tell. We were not informed of this before showing up and had to go through and figure out the check out on the spot in the parking lot. I have no problem with the location if I would have been informed of this ahead of time. We would have also gone in and made additional purchases if this would have been a full store.Adam L.

I had difficulty getting the verification code sent to my phone and my email Both during pick up and drop off. during pick up, it took more than 15 minutes to get the verification code sent to my email even longer to have one sent to my phone, I even tried calling the 800 number and was on hold for about 25 to 30 minutes. even after getting a verification code still had trouble getting into the system. Even several hours later more codes were sent to my phone. we were at the location for 45 minutes before we were able to get the truck. Dropping the truck off-once again unable to get the verification code code sent to either my phone or my email. never did get a code sent to either one. I was on the phone for half an hour and never did speak to an actual human being. Tried both numbers that were listed to call for help. We were at the drop off location in the dark for an hour before we just put the key in the box took pictures of everything and left. My family members that were with me and I were extremely unhappy with the entire situation. I will never rent from U-Haul again.JoTasha T.

This was more of a commercial rental than a personal one. I didn't personally return the truck which I appreciate the consideration because I live 40 miles away, and didn't unload the truck myself. I was informed that they actually pressure washed the bed out and yet were charged $28. for cleaning fees. I have never had to pay a cleaning fee and have rented trucks many, many times before.Rodger D.

Truck ate alot of gas, there was a "drive green function but went below 3 of 7 bars with the slightest push of the pedel, i drove less then 40 miles and had to out 40$ in gas plus the 70+ i spent on the rental..Cody C.

First promised a truck, was told one would be brought to a location close to me, then in order to move 5 miles, I had to drive an extra 50 to get the truck, and pay for mileage I didn't need, and when I was told my rental would be 99$, I had to pay 160$, not too happy, and wouldn't recommend to anyone.Aaron H.

Your "self Check In" process is a complete joke that does not work. If you're going to need an "additional contact" in order to rent a truck, you should include that information when confirming the reservation, It took me over an hour, and I had to go to two locations. I lost 30 minutes of my paid time with moving helpers, for which I expect to be reimbursed by U-Haul for your failure to be prepared. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.Ty O.
