Lexus P | Online Move InThis was my first encounter of this nature with U-Haul. During the initial check-in, the agent (on the counter) displayed an unacceptable level of rudeness and disrespect. Another agent, who also noticed the behavior, observed the interaction with surprise. This behavior could potentially be attributed to racial bias, and I would recommend close monitoring of this employee's interactions in the future. Historically, my experiences with U-Haul staff have been overwhelmingly positive, marked by kindness and helpfulness; this incident was a disappointing exception. The technician that installed the trailer and the other one that unmounted were super nice associates.

Mark BTrain employees, I walked in with a good experience and then I left very upset with an extra $30+ charge. We filled out the gas tank exactly at the same amount and even took a picture ourselves to make sure. The girl herself said oh he’s new let me make sure he gots it. Clearly there’s miscommunication on helping customers so especially we paid double gas…. Great.

Franklin PThe 26’ truck I was given was a piece of junk. Horn didn’t work, wiper blades were useless, lot of damage to the outside of the truck.
Mary KI was disappointed in the mounting locations provided in the trailer. I was told on the phone that there were rubberized side rails on three sides. There were, indeed. But they were not the kind you could pass a ratcheting tiedown strap through and loop it. The rails had tiny slots that could barely pass a hookless strap. Plus, those rails were GLUED on the sides and much of the rail had pulled away from the trailer. There were four measly metal hooks on the floor: two at front, two in back. If you're just hauling boxes, then this trailer is OK, I suppose. If you actually have to haul something that has to be thoroughly lashed down like I required, the trailer is unacceptable. Bad design. Had to cancel my trip because of the trailer's inadequacy.

SHANE SThis location was very good with one exception - the windshield washer did not work (I filled it with fluid prior to leaving on trip from AZ to WI). Was somewhat irritating when driving through on/off showers/snow. Not related to this location was on the day that I was to pick up the truck at the Litchfield, AZ location, 2 trucks had check engine lights that were lit, but they did not have any other trucks available after that. VERY irritating. Thank goodness for the Goodyear, AZ location.

JAMES FThere is no longer customer service. When I rented the moving truck, I did all the work with my mobile phone when checking in. They needed a picture of me and my license.I did it with my phone. They told me I could drop off the rental truck after hours with the drop box. Again I had to use my phone to take pictures of the rental truck, five different pictures and had to answer several questions. When it’s your first time doing this, it’s aggravating. I found the whole experience frustrating and inconvenient. Needing my picture is intrusive, my license should be good enough. Then the final straw was they charged me $20 for the CONVENIENCE of after hours drop off. I DID ALL THE WORK!!! They charged my credit card and sent the receipt to my email. I paid $200 for a day rental because I went about 105 miles total. Then I had to fill it up with gas before I returned it, which is fine, but I’m old school and would like to deal with a person when returning the rental.. Ok, I’m done ranting now. Next time I’ll use my pickup and make 3 trips, it’ll be less aggravating and way cheaper.

rudy HGas was not at level I was told it would be and the air conditioner was on the entire time eating up gas when it was not needed at 7:00AM today. The truck was very old and they had many in the yard and could have given me a newer one that was in better condition. Very disappointing rental and will look to go elsewhere in the future.

James AThe customer service was soo rude. I was told I was at a quarter of a tank, and it was told that I needed to make sure that I was at a quarter of a tank to make sure I don’t get charged. This was understandable bc it is the same type policy as a rental car. You bring back the vehicle with the same amount as when you rented it. Instead, it was 24 miles to E. I borrowed it for 2hrs, bought $30 in gas (after spending $91 on the rental) then brought it back with 50 miles left to E. Fun fact, it would have been at 1/4 if the light didn’t turn on when I pulled into the parking lot. I called this morning, because I was charged $97and this guy Joshua was so rude on the phone at 7:30 this morning, because I didn’t put the gas at a quarter of the tank yet I gave them double the amount of gas they gave me, took pictures of the vehicle (they said they were provided but they weren’t, . I do not want to be crass but I would because it is not customer service never want to use this place again.

Andrew BOur unit was allowed to collect a massive amount of dust as it's an outside unit next to the newly created Uhaul building, we lost access to it for over a month, as they removed the asphalt without warning and didn't provide an safe route in. They were nice enough to comp us one month, but that doesn't cover the cost of time and effort to clean and move that unit. There's dust in the momentos which were sealed in boxes and totes because of the lack of care to at least provide a cover for the units that were exposed to the construction site. Mind that this was 3 to 4 months of construction.

We first stopped by on 12/24/2023 to return our Auto Transport and everyone was very pleasant and helpful and the return process was very quick and easy. We returned on 12/27/2023 to move-in to our storage and return our one way rental truck and again, everyone was very pleasant and helpful and the process was very quick and easy. The only complaint I have is the restroom located by the office. Not the cleanest and could use a good cleaning daily and several 'touch ups' throughout the day. The restroom that was closest to my storage unit (located in the new building) was not accessible at all and that forced me to go back to the restroom located at the office. I understand it is a public restroom, but after on the road and moving and being a female (meaning you can't stand, you have to sit or squat), a clean restroom is much appreciated.

When asked what happens if someone doesnt have a smart phone… employee replied… “ you cant rent from us”. Basic help in identifying and locating the unit would have been helpful. I could not in good conscience recommend a storage unit from this location. Common courtesy is expected, cold snappy answers will get nothing but a reciprocated attitude.

The Cody manager was very disinterested in being helpful, issued me the wrong truck to move my property into storage…after I notified her 4 attempts, after 45 minutes of trying to check out the condition of the moving truck, she continued to be unhelpful and unresponsive…another employee simply said “the check out process in the app doesn’t really matter, just take pictures and deal with it on return” Around closing time I was approached by another employee wanting to correct my rental contract because I was issued the wrong truck…I was really annoyed to hear that after I made multiple attempts and an hour of my time wasted in an effort to get that resolved at the start of my rental. I would like to speak to someone above the General Manager about my experience PLEASE!

By the time I showed up at this facility I was wrecked. ANTHONY checked me in to the unit and was responsible for checking the truck in as well. Give this guy whatever you need to keep him around! I was going to never use U-Haul again and I was going to let everyone know it. ANTHONY turned that all around. He was courteous, professional and didn't just make it right financially but treated me like I was a valued customer. THIS guy needs to train all your people and especially your 3rd party vendors and online people. You went from 0 stars to 5 because of one person doing his job well. I believe it went up almost $30 in the five years I was there. That’s a steep increase in a short amount of time.

Every single time I went there the alarm went off. Sound was way above safe limits. Even thought it was 24 hours if you went after office hours the only door that you could use to access the facility was a small man door. Large doors were locked with a notice to not open or alarm would sound. Not convenient for large sized items. Not enough parking so people would use dock spaces to park their cars. Many times I had to wait for for someone to move a car so I could back a truck up. Price amd service was really only good thing about it. Facility is under sonstruction so I hope problems will be addressed.

Was yelled at to leave the building and when I refused so I CLD get answers she pushed a panic button and called the cops. I waited for them since I knew I had done nothing wrong. Police let me and my husband leave after I told them my side of the story and told them to look at the video and then they wld understand where I was coming from

I called on the 9th before I drove the 3 hours to the store and they told me they had a trailer. When I got there we loaded our truck but they could not get the computer to release the trailer. Ao they reserved it for the next morning hoping then it would allow me to rent it. They assured me that i would not be charged for another month because it was not my fault they could not give me the trailer to move the little bit of my stuff that was left in the unit. So the next morning I drove again 3 hrs but this time the trailer was allowed to be rented which we did.first we loaded our truck then realized we really didn't need the big trailer so I ask if I can switch to a smaller one. Which we did. They saie they would credit my debit card account for the diference in the two trailers which was about 50 dollars. Plus the unexpected charge of another months rent almost 150 dollars. And when I ask when they were going to fix it. I was told yesterday morning. On 10-10-2021 someone would call me, here it it 10-11-2021 @ 4:30pm havent heard a word. I know to them 200 dollars might not be important but i am on a fixed income and that's a third of my income. Ignoring your clients is not a good business practice. Especially when I've been using there business for over 35 years 🎃

When we moved out, we moved into a Uhaul container for transport, and the window was supposed to be 12-6p. We verified this twice: on the phone making reservations and in person at the facility 2 days in advance. When we arrived, we would only have access for 3 hours because the only forklift driver was leaving at 3 (the office is open until 7). We went over by 10 minutes, so their solution was to “park a truck in front of it,” which they did not do before we left, and probably never got done. Overall the facility is clean, with nice bathrooms and good AC. Our stuff smelled musty in the last month there (a first after 2 years of use), but I know that’s not entirely their fault.

I had to go back to the office because there was a green tag on my storage and i had no way to take it off. I ask the gentleman “hello i have a lock on my storage is there anyway to take it off” he goes “is it a lock or a tag” and i go “i believe it is a tag, do you mind coming with me i don’t have scissors” he goes “you can’t just rip it off?” So then he follows me to my storage and goes “see you have a tag not a lock!” In a rude manner and i go “ oh sorry i guess it’s kind of the same thing to me” trying to lighten up the mood and he goes “no not at all! They’re totally different!” In a snarky tone, then he proceeds to rip of the tag and go “see all you had to do was rip it off like i told you” this employee made me feel incompetent and bothered that i asked him to do his job. 100% will not come back.

Debra V | Overall ExperienceWe had a leak in our unit that ruined property, and because of the customer service being so poor we didn't even bother to try to get it rectified. The customer service is lacking. Upon visits just being in line to get help, I've seen a grumpy bearded manager with attitude towards customers and sarcasm and seems to hate his job. A smile or positive attitude goes a long way when having issues with a truck, or unit, or payment issues. We rented a truck went through the whole process to find out it did not even have gasoline before driving out, which means they probably didn't inspect anything else, tires or damage etc..We had to re-register a different truck and go through the app., etc, etc, after waiting in line again. When returning the truck we were not informed of having to return the truck to that exact location as there are many U-haul locations much closer to where we were moving. We had so many bad experiences with a lack of communication or just plain attitude in the years we rented. We spoke with a person about how our card we swipe to un-lock the alarm doesn't work and were told to come into the store to swipe which is very inconvenient at this location, instead of fixing the problem, so we could swipe closer to the unit we rented. One last issue we had was we rented a few years and had trouble making a payment one time, "One time," and when calling to a customer service rep we were told of a one time pass, or delay in payment for one month. We tried contacting the manager multiple times and left messages that were never returned, only to find out that the next CSR representative we spoke with said that was incorrect based on our payment method type. At that point we were also charged late fees for the improper communication of the first CSR respresentative that supposedly put notes on our account about what we were initially told. Overall, I would never use U-haul again or recommend any of there services. We now rent a unit with another company

But little did I know that most of my stuff was ruined due to the debris. I don’t think there was ever a spray for pest because my storage was infested with spiders and pests. When we asked staff and management about it, they said there is nothing that they can do. And they never answered weather there was a quarterly spray for pests. Overall, this specific location is really busy and I’m sure business takes more presidente than service itself.

It took several minutes to be helped and when we were helped it was not the nice customer service I would have expected on a first time experience. Check in was not explained well and my husband was hollered at (to come to the key pad) from the man at the dock when he did not check in on the key pad prior to opening our unit. I expressed my concerns in an email. After a few attempts to return a call back to management with phone number provided, I was rerouted several times to the Sales line. My husband attempted twice to speak directly to the manager and waited in line for over 30min each time so he had to walk out. Overall it turned out okay as well did not have to go back into the office and have any future encounters with staff after the initial check in process (until out move out yesterday). The man who tended to my husband yesterday was a new man and he was professional and pleasant. As for the appearance of the storage facility it was nice overall. When we moved in we had a complimentary discus lock on the floor of our unit which was a pleasant surprise. It was nice but we did have a black widow spider we found on our first day we moved in that my husband killed. He also took bug spray to kill any other bugs in the unit that would possibly get into our belongings.This was our first storage experience and were unaware of the dusty dirt that got on all of our belongings but I'm sure that's to be expected as well as we are in the desert. This storage facility was convenient and only 10 minutes from our new home. We like the convenience of the drive up unit, and that it was an open storage (not gated) and convenient access hours 5am to 10pm.

The reason I moved out because after having my stuff there for a year this last month was a bit rough after my dad passed away while I was taking care of him and could not even get help with waiving a late fee. Left a bad taste and moved my stuff.
